Off Center is a ceramic studio and memberspace in South Williamsburg.
Off Center is a ceramics member space in South Williamsburg for making, centering, and building a regular practice with clay. Through classes, memberships, and shared studio access, it offers a place to work with your hands in a setting that feels calm, intentional, and communal.
The studio is shaped around the act of centering on the wheel, and the idea that creative practice does not need to be perfect to be meaningful. It is designed to support both learning and repetition, with the tools, space, and structure to make returning feel easy.
More than a place to take a class, Off Center is a place to come back to. Some people begin with a first session, others join as members, but over time the studio becomes a shared space for process, rhythm, and community.
Off Center was founded by Moses Starr, one half of Moklé Studio.
If you want, I can make it even tighter and more premium.
About the Founder
Founded in 2025 by Moses Starr of Moklé Studio, Off Center was created in response to the need for a slower, smaller, more intentional space—one rooted in community and the process of making. The studio is built around a simple idea: you do not need to be perfect to begin. You just have to show up.
We believe in the value of creative community, the beauty of wobble, and the ritual of working with your hands. Off Center is structured but forgiving, encouraging but unfussy—a place for beginners to begin, and for regulars to keep returning.
